History of Rockford Self Storage
EAST
Rockford Self Storage roots go back to 1992 when Mike and Roger purchased a small self storage facility at 8905 Belding rd. With only one small building erect and room to grow, Mike and Roger quickly got to work installing an electronic gate, security cameras, built two new self storage buildings, and brought in crushed concrete to offer RV, Boat and Camper storage. Today, we offer drive up storage units ranging from 5x10 to 10x30 sizes and outdoor parking spaces up to 40ft in length.
Future plans: We have five additional acres which we are currently clearing for future expansion.
CENTRAL
After renting too many units to customers outside in the cold ofwinter and realizing there might be a need for storage closer to downtown Rockford., in 1998 Rockford Self Storage expanded it's footprint and began buildding a facility on the corner of Belding rd. and the Beltline/Northland dr. Today, this location offers climate controlled units (temperature and humidity regulated) and drive up units. Sizes ranging from small 5x5x4 lockers all the way up to large 10x40 units. This is also where our main office is located where a manager is ready to assist you M-F 9am-5:30pm.
NORTH
Upon customer request, in 2014 we expanded north of downtown Rockford (10511 Northland dr., 49341) to offer more storage and additional outdoor storage options for Boats and RV's. We cleared the land, built fences, installed LED lighting, installed an electronic gate, and built three buildings initially. A few years later we added three more buildings with sizes ranging from 5x10 to 10x30 units.
Future plans: We recently purchased the adjacent parcel to our existing property, with plans to expand our outdoor storage, build more storage buildings, and even offer large buildings with storage condo units for indoor RV and boat storage.
This locations offers outdoor parking and is an ideal location for anyone living in Rockford. Seeing the property was in rough shape, we went right to work cleaning up the property, installing new security cameras and a new keypad system, and had the electric gate serviced, safety features fixed and more added. We have many more ideas and projects up our sleeves with this site to make the rental experience better for our customers.
